Assist community and voluntary groups in obtaining grant funding

Community and voluntary groups rely heavily on grant funding simply to exist.  Not merely is there significant competition for this funding, the forms that need to be filled in to even apply are comprehensive to the point of off-putting.

I do not think it fair that community groups who may not have this particular expertise on board may not have a fair crack of the whip when it comes to competitive applications for funding.

I have put the experience I gained professionally in applying for grant funding to good use in applying for grants for local groups in Passage West/Monkstown.  I would be delighted to help community and voluntary groups struggling with difficult grant application forms.  I also believe this potential difficulty needs to be recognised within Cork County Council and that guidance should be available from County Council staff when requested.
